Does UH offer a Nursing degree? I have found information about Pre-Nursing on your website. What is the difference?

The University of Houston does not offer a Nursing degree. Nursing schools have required courses that must be completed before you will be eligible for admission. These courses may be taken at UH or at another institution such as a community college. Students who are taking the required courses for Nursing are considered Pre-Nursing students.

Usually Pre-Nursing students are undeclared majors (University Studies Division majors) and apply within 2 years to the Nursing schools to complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree. Pre-Nursing students also have the option of completing a major in a field they are interested in and applying to the Nursing program at a later date.

Pre-Nursing students are advised by the University Studies Division (USD). USD is located at 320 Student Service Center. No appointment is necessary. USD is open from 8-4:30 Monday-Friday.
