When the Microsoft Authenticator app prompts you for verification, it is referring to your device standard unlock method. This may be your PIN, fingerprint, facial recognition, or another screen lock method you use to access your phone.
Authenticator does this for added security. If you would like to remove this additional login security, and not be prompted each time, follow the steps below:
1.) Tap the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone.
2.) Enter the authentication method you use to access your phone. (Note: This example uses the PIN as the authentication method. If your device is set up to unlock using another method, such as a fingerprint, facial recognition, or a different screen lock, use that method instead.)
3.) Tap Continue.
4.) Tap the ellipses on the far-right corner.
5.) Tap Settings.
6.) Tap the App Lock toggle to disable it.
***After this change, you will no longer be asked to authenticate with your PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition every time you open the Microsoft Authenticator app.***
