How can I share a video link to a meeting recording with others in Microsoft Teams?

If you recorded the meeting, you can share the recording with people who are outside of your org or who didn't attend the meeting, but you need to take a few additional steps.

Note: Only the owner of the meeting recording can update permissions for the recording.

Step 1. Set video permissions in Stream

  1. As the meeting recording owner, go to the recording in the Teams chat history and select More options More options button > Open in Microsoft Stream.

Open recording in Microsoft Stream option
  2. Change the permissions for the video to allow groups or individuals to view it in Stream.

    1. In the Microsoft Stream portal, under the video, select  More options button > Edit.

    2. In the Permissions section, add people or Microsoft 365 groups who need viewer or owner access to the video. See Permissions and privacy for details.

Note: This is also where recording owners can name additional owners.

Step 2. Get a link to share

  1. In Teams, go to the meeting recording in the chat history and select More options More options button > Get link.

    Get link for a recording
  2. In the Get Stream link dialog box, select Copy.

  3. Paste the link into an email or Teams message and select Send Send button .
