How does the PureMessage software decide what messages to send to the Quarantine site and which messages to send to my Inbox?

The PureMessage software scans the incoming mail at the UH.EDU gateway and assigns each message a Spam Score. Based on the Spam Score, the mail is processed as follows:

0-50% Delivered as good mail
51-80% Possible spam — Flagged and delivered to user mailbox
81-90% Probable spam — Delivered to Quarantine folder (not counted against user mailbox quota)
91-100% Unwanted spam — Blocked and not delivered
