The status "confirmed" means that the instructor has changed the class status from "pending" to "confirmed" stating that the class will happen on the day and time scheduled. This does NOT mean however that if you were on the waiting list you have a guaranteed seat in the class. Everyone regardless of his or her enrollment status gets this confirmation email message.
