Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac is available as a free download from the Faculty/Staff software download site, http://software.uh.edu/ .This package is pre-configured to auto-register, as part of the campus Microsoft agreement.This means that no license code is needed to activate the software, since the Office 2011 installer takes care of the activation automatically.
Microsoft Office for Mac Academic 2011 that is sold at the CougarByte computer store, for $19.99 + tax, are not configured to automatically activate.Instead, it comes with an individual license code that will never expire.
