How do I register my Faculty/Staff copy of Office 2010? Do I need a license code or product key?

To properly activate your UH Faculty/Staff copy of Office Professional Plus 2010, you will need to use the campus Key Management Server (KMS). If your machine is off-campus and not on the UH network, you will need to establish a VPN connection (using your CougarNet logon credentials) back to the UH campus. To get the latest version of the VPN client, visit www.uh.edu/infotech/php/software_downloads.php

The license code will automatically be assigned to your copy of Office 2010. No individual code is needed. For those machines that are on-campus and not on the CougarNet domain and need to be activated manually, follow the procedures below.

***NOTE: Office 2010 32-bit can be installed on both 32- & 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Vista. However, it is strongly recommended that like versions be installed together. For example, Office 2010 64-bit --> Windows 7/Vista 64-bit, Office 2010 32-bit --> Windows 7/Vista 32-bit, etc.
