How do I drop a class?

Dropping Classes

September 4

Students may drop courses on their own behalf via Self Service through September 4. Courses dropped by this deadline will not appear on the transcript and will not count toward the funding limit or the repeated courses limit.

September 5 – October 31

Students wishing to drop classes after September 4 must pick up a new drop form (available soon), have the instructor sign it, and submit it to the Registrar’s Office at the Welcome Center for processing. The instructor’s signature is now required for all drops requested after September 4.

Courses dropped during this period will appear on the transcript with a W grade.

Beginning Fall 2007, undergraduate students will be permitted to accumulate no more than 6 course drops (medical withdrawals are excepted). Drop requests exceeding the limit will be denied, the student will have to complete the course, and the transcript will show the grade earned. Further information about this process is forthcoming.
